Concerns over fire service cutsFire bosses in Norfolk are planning an overhaul of the service, aimed at saving £1.5m and boosting rural cover - amid union claims it will see public safety put at risk and the loss of 63 jobs.

Two men robbed in Dereham

Two men were punched and had a mobile phone stolen during a robbery in Dereham. The victims - aged 30 and 26 - were standing on the corner of Norwich Street and Chapel Walk when they were approached by two other men who demanded they hand over money and phones.

A Dereham chip shop has been singled out as one of the best in the region by a nationwide hunt for the best chippie. To celebrate the forthcoming National Chip Week, which runs from February 15, a list has been compiled of the top ten fish and chips shops in Norfolk - with punters invited to vote for the best online.
