A man in his 80s was arrested before being de-arrested following a two-vehicle crash in Dereham.
Emergency services including the police and ambulance service were called to B1135 Yaxham Road just before 5pm on Saturday, December 3.
The collision, involving two vehicles, blocked the B1135 and meant local traffic had to be diverted.
Officers subsequently arrested a man aged in his 80s on suspicion of failing to provide a specimen of breath.
However, he was later de-arrested and police are awaiting the results of his blood tests.
A spokesman for Norfolk Constabulary said: "We were called by the ambulance service on December 3 at 4.54pm to reports of a two-vehicle collision.
"A man in his 80s was arrested at the scene on suspicion of failing to provide a specimen. He was taken to hospital for treatment and later de-arrested.
"Officers are continuing to investigate whilst awaiting results of blood tests."
