A devastating miscarriage has inspired two brothers to climb the equivalent of Mount Everest.

Holly Brown, who has a two-year-old son Oscar, suffered a missed miscarriage in March this year - where a baby dies in the womb, but the mother hasn't had any symptoms - leaving the family "heartbroken".

Her husband Ben Brown and his brother Sam Brown, decided to scale Mt Snowdon - the highest mountain in Wales - to raise funds for the N&N Hospitals Charity.

Instead of climbing it once the pair made it their mission to ascend the mountain eight times and descend eight times, scaling 29,000ft - the equivalent of climbing the highest mountain in the world, Everest.

Mrs Brown, 30, said: "We were absolutely shocked.

"We never thought something like this would happen - we were heartbroken.

"Even after what happened, the N&N were brilliant looking after me the whole time I was there.

"That's when Ben and Sam decided to raise money for the N&N charity - it was just the right time.

"We're looking to raise £5,000 to donate to the Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit (EPAU) and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) which helps children and families in the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital."

Starting up a GoFundMe the duo started their climb at 7.30am on Friday, September 29 and after a gruelling four days, finished around 5pm on Monday, October 2.

So far a total of £1,567 has been raised of the £5,000 target.

Mrs Brown added: "The weather was terrible at times but it improved and they persevered through it all.

"We even got to climb the last few metres with them to finish off the challenge which was great.
