Youngsters have donned purple for a good cause at Swanton Morley VC Primary School.

Youngsters raised £323 for the Epilepsy Society, which was in support of one of their fellow pupils, Ava Buck, nine, who has epilepsy.

Her mum, Erica Buck, helped to organise the fundraiser.

She said: “It’s personal to me because I have a child that lives with epilepsy and I had a friend with epilepsy who sadly passed away.

“The money raised will go towards more research and medication. I was happy to do my bit to help them get the treatment they need, and have a decent and full life.”

Ms Buck said she wanted to thank the school and the team at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, which cared for Ava.

There are 600,000 people with epilepsy living in the UK - around one in every 100 people.

Founded in 1892, the Epilepsy Society is the largest charity in the field of epilepsy in the United Kingdom.
