A free-scoring youth football team have taken sharing the goals around to the next level - with every player on the team, including the goalkeeper, finding the back of the net this season.

It has been raining goals in Poringland, where Wanderers’ Under 12s Greens side have now scored a century of goals this season – with three games still left to play.

Poringland Wanderers Greens have netted 101 goals in their quest for the league title – currently sitting second in the Norfolk Combined Youth Football League Under 12 League One.

And last weekend the team’s goalkeeper Hector Baldock got in on the act – swapping places with Bobby Knight and getting on the scoresheet with just five minutes to play in Wanderers’ 6-0 win over Morley Youth FC Stallions.

It means every player on the team has now netted this season, which coaches Lucas Knight and Tom Whitmore think could be a record-breaking tally for the league.

“Every single player who has played for us since the first game of the season has now bagged at least one goal for the team,” coach Lucas Knight said.

“I'm not sure if this is a common occurrence in competitive youth football but, regardless, I’m so proud of the squad in what is their first season together.

“They’re an incredible bunch of players who support each other, and to have every player score really shows the quality of the squad.

“Our top scorer, Hanif Balde, has found the back of the net 21 times, but we have had goals from every single position - and these are team goals not just individuals on solo runs.

“It really is a whole squad performance.”

Poringland Wanderers Greens are now chasing the league title, sitting second behind Watton Juniors – who they still have left to play next month.
