Six people have been taken to hospital following two separate crashes at Wells.

Three people were hurt in a crash on the A149 at Wells at 4.50pm on Sunday, August 13 including one who was flown by the Magpas Air Ambulance to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.

The patient had suffered a head and an arm injury but neither were thought to be life threatening.

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Trust (EEAST) which sent two ambulances, a rapid response vehicle and ambulance officer to the scene, said the other two hurt in the crash suffered minor injuries.

They were taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by land ambulance.

Meanwhile three other people were hurt in a separate crash on the Fakenham Road at Wells which happened at about 7.15pm on Sunday (August 13).

Fire crews from Wells and Fakenham attended and used hydraulic rescue equipment to release a casualty.

An ambulance service spokesman said an ambulance, two rapid response vehicles, an ambulance officer and the Hazardous Area Response Team attended and treated three patients.

Norfolk Police warned other motorists about the incident on social media.

To help ease traffic delays, Holkham Hall and Estate opened up its land to motorists as a diversion.
