Former colonel David James has retired as chairman of the Royal British Legion’s Fakenham and District Branch.

Retired colonel James had been chairman for 15 years during which time the branch has enjoyed much success, with many awards being achieved including The Hayden Cup, The Membership Cup and The Wilfred Burman Cup.

The branch has also been honoured with the freedom of Fakenham.

The branch has relocated from the Townshend Club to the Conservative Club, where it has been warmly welcomed and has held many succesful events, with the Poppy Appeal continuing to go from strength to strength.

The Annual Remembrance Parade also continues to be well supported in the town.

The committee will now be chaired by Phillip Walker, with a new secretary Daniel Joslin and a new treasurer Michael Dalgleish.
