Conservative Theresa Hewett has been elected to represent the Saham Toney ward on Breckland Council, following the resignation of Charles Carter who was filmed making lewd comments to a hunt protestor.

Mr Carter resigned in January.

Video footage emerged of him being confronted by a woman named Linda Hoggard at a hunt in Yorkshire.
On the film, Mr Carter took his own phone out to film Mrs Hoggard and told her: “I’d quite like to **** you, actually”, before adding: “Can I take you to bed, please?”

Smiling, he then added: “You’re very pretty,” before finally asking: “Can I have your number, please?”

The byelection saw Ms Hewett receive 335 votes.

Liberal Democrat Andrew Thorpe received 105 votes, Independent Patricia Warwick received 104, UKIP’s David Williams received 80 votes and Joseph Sisto, from the Labour Pary, received 72 votes.
