Dereham is to host a beer festival in support of a charity that helps bereaved children of service personnel killed while serving in the British Armed Forces.

The Dereham Charity Beer Festival is organised by the Dereham & District Round Table and will see over 30 beers and other drinks served from the Dereham Memorial Hall.

It is being held in aid of Scotty’s Little Soldiers, a charity created by Army widow Nikki Scott, after the death of her husband Cpl Lee Scott in Afghanistan in 2009. The charity provides assistance to hundreds of bereaved Forces children around the UK.

The event is taking place on the weekend of April 29 and 30 at Dereham’s Memorial Hall and doors open at 11am. The entrance fee is £10 on the door which includes a commemorative pint glass and five tokens. Alternatively the basic entrance fee is only is £2.50 with soft drinks provided free of charge to drivers.
