Emergency services have attended three car accidents in the Wells area in the space of 24 hours.

The most recent accident took place on Wells Road, near Walsingham on Monday when a car overturned onto its roof.

Police were called to the scene at 11.14am and helped a young driver from the Vauxhall Signum. They later confirmed that no one had been injured in the incident.

The accident was the third to take place in the area in the space of just 24 hours.

The most serious of the three took place on Sunday evening when two motorbikes collided, leaving a man in his 30s seriously injured.

The incident happened at around 5pm on Sunday, close to the B1105 junction and involved a Ducati and Harley Davidson, both travelling towards Holkham.

The Magpas Air Ambulance landed at the scene at 5.27pm after being called by the East of England Ambulance Service (EEAST).

A doctor and paramedic from Magpas assessed two patients, including the rider of the Ducati who had sustained a suspected head and back injury. He later had to be airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.

Magpas also treated a young boy who had minor injuries but did not need treatment at the scene.

A third patient, believed to be the rider of the Harley Davidson, was also treated for minor injuries.

The two patients were taken by ambulance to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King’s Lynn. None of them are believed to have life threatening injuries.

The second accident happened at around 7.15pm on Sunday and left another three people injured. One of the casualties had to be released from their car using hydraulic rescue equipment by fire crews from Wells and Fakenham.

An ambulance service spokesman said all three patients, including two women, one of which had an arm injury and another with minor injuries, were taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital. He said: “All three patients’ injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.”

The accidents on Sunday resulted in delays on the roads but these were eased thanks to the help of Holkham Hall, who opened their gates as a diversion.

Anyone with information on the motorcycle collision on Sunday should contact Police on 101.
