Work has started on an empty shop in Dereham in preparation for the arrival of a new charity store.

EACH (East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices) has confirmed that it is opening a shop in the former Just Blinds and Curtains building at 13 Market Place.

The large shop on the corner of Ruthen Place has been empty for more than two years after Just Blinds and Curtains relocated to a new showroom on the Rash’s Green Industrial Estate.

A spokesman for EACH said they hoped to open their new store in December.

“There is some work to do on the shop but we are excited to be moving into Dereham and happy to be part of the community,” he said.

The new shop will bring the total number of EACH shops in East Anglia to 25. It also has an eBay shop and Retail Distribution Centre in Thetford. Last year they helped generate £700,000 to support services for life-threatened children, young people and their families.
