Police appeal after reports of low-flying helicopter frightening cattle in Norfolk

Archant

A low-flying helicopter, which has been reported as disturbing cattle near Dereham, has sparked an unusual plea from police - for people to catch the aircraft on video.

Norfolk police said they had twice had reports of the blue and yellow helicopter in the area around Stanfield, with the aircraft flying below the 500ft limit.

The police said the regulations enforced by the Civil Aviation Authority meant no aircraft can fly within 500ft of a building, person, vehicle or vessel without prior permission.

Anyone who sees the helicopter flying low is urged to attempt to take picture or video, note the registration number down and contact the Civil Aviation Authority here, write to CAA House, 45-59 Kingsway, London, WC2B 6TE or call 01293 567171.
