Dereham Ladies get into the Christmas spirit in target bowls competition

Dereham Ladies held a fun day on Saturday with 31 ladies taking part in a target bowls competition wearing Christmas jumpers and hats.

Margaret Mitchell was the winner with an impressive total of 211 points.

A raffle was held for ladies’ funds and £39 was raised. Thanks were given to Anita Smith, who ran the morning with help from the ladies.

Dereham Men’s B team travelled to Wymondham Dell C hoping for a win that would take them to the pole position before Christmas, but came up against an opposition who bowled very well and lost the match 66-99 (0-7).

Rink scores: M Gault, B Reynolds, B Joyner, B Sutton 23-25, A Dagless, D Mylchreest, T Hunt, B Lee 19-23, D Le Page, D Rudd, J Hunt, S Turner 15-20 and A Turner, S Grainger, T Frary, G Adams 9-31.

The junior club will get under way again on January 5 from 4 to 6pm.

In the Liberty Trophy second round Norfolk CIBA beat Suffolk CIBA 109-105.
