Magical family fun at Worstead Festival

The historic community has a rich past linked to the medieval weaving industry, and those skills will be showcased in the impressive church.

But outside there is also a range of family entertainment including music, theatre, vintage vehicles, dog show and farming bygones.

Other attractions include the Norfolk and Norwich Medieval Association, Bewilderwood, Davenport's Magic Kingdom, birds of prey and heavy horses.

The acrobatic antics of the Norfolk Parkour Alliance will be on display during Saturday and drumming team Trix'n'Stix on the Sunday, as well as zorb balls and bungee trampolines both days.

There will also be madcap antics from street entertainers Science in a Suitcase along with storytelling, a tag rugby contest and laser clay shoot.

The festival even has a special historic version of the TV game show Play Your Cards Right.

The festival is also well-known for its music offering, and the line-up includes The Choir Worstead and The Booze Brothers, who will close the event on the Sunday afternoon.

A number of award-winning chefs will be showing their skills in the Best of Norfolk Food marquee.

There is also a taster display on the history of the festival ahead of chalking up its half century next year - its 50th milestone.

Organisers are asking festivalgoers to leave their contact details if they have memories from festivals past.

The festival runs from 10am to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Entry is £5 for adults, but free for children under 12.
