Youngsters at Toftwood Infant and Junior School Federation celebrated the royal wedding with a week-long series of arts and crafts activities, ranging from writing invitations, to making their own royal crowns.
Pupils also learned about marriage and acted out parts of Harry and Meghan's ceremony; designed a wedding cake which they decorated with the help of school cook Mrs Purse; found out about the history of the royal family, and made Union Jack bunting.
The week culiminated in a picnic lunch for staff and children, who tucked in to a special dessert voted for by the school council and dubbed Meghan Markle marble cake.
Reception teacher Chrissy Gold said: 'The pupils had a wonderful time celebrating this historic event with their friends, the weather definitely helped to make the picnic a great success and it will undoubtedly be something they remember for a very long time.'
