Vandals in Dereham left a trail of destruction when a string of homes and cars were targeted in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Police say that a clear route from the town centre to the Hillcrest estate was followed in what appeared to be random attacks. The offenders used spray paint to scrawl obscenities and draw offensive images on residents' walls, windows and cars.
Sgt Mark Goodboy, at Dereham police station, said officers
saw a steady stream of seven incidents reported on Sunday morning, with more expected to have gone unreported. Vandalism took place on Old Hall Road, Lavender Grove, Orchid Avenue and Hillcrest Avenue, and police said they would step up patrols in the early hours of Saturday and Sunday mornings in future.
Police are appealing for witnesses or shopkeepers who may have sold the white and red spray paint to come forward.
