Roadworks on the A47 near Dereham due to start last week have been postponed till today.The work, to the west of Dereham, involves replacing several concrete carriageway slabs with an asphalt surface on the westbound carriageway and repairs to Scarning Bridge on the east and westbound carriageways.

The work, to the west of Dereham, involves replacing several concrete carriageway slabs with an asphalt surface on the westbound carriageway and repairs to Scarning Bridge on the east and westbound carriageways.

A spokesman for the Highways Agency said: 'This work is a complicated procedure necessitating careful planning. It needs to be carried out over a weekend to avoid disruption on this busy stretch of the A47.'

The work will be carried out between 8pm and midnight tonight and from 8pm tomorrow through to 6am on Monday.
