It is all steam ahead on a Norfolk heritage railway, with a whole host of dining trains planned for 2023.

The Dereham-based Mid-Norfolk Railway has given a taster of what passengers can expect in the months to come, with dates and tickets to be released soon.

Returning by popular demand are the Breckland Fryer fish and chip trains on selected Saturday evenings, the Heart of Norfolk Afternoon Tea on selected Sundays and the Gin Train on May 27 and September 16.

New for 2023, is the Brecklander Ploughman’s Luncheon on selected weekends and champagne afternoon tea over Mother's Day weekend on March 18 and 19.

Charlie Robinson, chairman of the Mid-Norfolk Railway, said: "In 2023 we are planning to add new services, new catering opportunities and new events, plus bringing back some popular events we have just not been able to run over the last few years.”

The season starts on March 4 and standard running days will be a mix of steam-hauled, diesel-hauled or diesel multiple-unit services.
