Folk musicians will be rolling up their sleeves for a special benefit concert planned to take place on the coronation bank holiday.

The teams from the music festival Folk on the Pier and Cromer Pier are hosting a "Folk’s Rockin’ for the North Norfolk Foodbank" gig on Monday, May 8, two days after Charles III’s coronation.

Folk on the Pier itself is happening May 5-7.

Scott Butler from Deckchair Productions, the show’s producer, said: “With this in mind both parties decided that the best way forward would be to create a matinee concert, as opposed to an evening one on the bank holiday Monday, allowing visiting festival-goers who would normally make their way home after breakfast on a Monday, to stay on in Cromer to attend the concert before leaving.”

The gig will feature local singer-songwriter duo, the Browns, guitarist and singer Anthony John Clarke and the eight-piece folk-rock band Merry Hell.

The concert will run 2pm-4.30pm, tickets are £15.
