The manager of a new cancer support hub said the reaction to its opening has been better than she ever expected.

Suzanne Chapman, manager for Caring Friends for Cancer, was speaking after the new support hub opened on Norwich Street in Dereham on March 21.

The charity group was founded in 2014 and offers a range of services for people including helping to reduce isolation, anxiety and other negative impacts on mental and emotional health.

Mrs Chapman said: “We’ve been very busy, we have several people here right now, others are dropping or phoning in, it seems to be working quite well.

“The reaction has made us feel superb, it has been better than we thought and we hope this good start can continue for us.”

The office came around after volunteers from the group spoke with its service users to find out their thoughts on having the space where people could call in and arrange any help they need.

You can find the hub at 36A Norwich Street.
