A village café and restaurant has launched a new service with an Italian twist. 

The Lemon and Rosemary Yard in Elsing has launched its first ever afternoon tea after high demand from customers. 

The restaurant, in what was previously the 16th century Mermaid Inn pub, has been open under the management of Abi Saunt and Alex Wrzava since December 2022.

"It's what people want and we've had really positive feedback so far."

The new afternoon tea features finger sandwiches, scones, sausage rolls and unlimited hot drinks.

She added: "The business is going from strength to strength and we're starting to get really big bookings.

"When people see our building it looks like it's just an old pub but it's so bright and welcoming inside. 

"It's a really fun atmosphere." 

Bookings can now be made for afternoon tea at The Lemon and Rosemary Yard from 12pm to 1.30pm from Wednesday to Saturday.

The afternoon tea costs £22.50 per person.
