A Dereham mortgage adviser has moved back into the town centre with hopes of helping people amid the cost-of-living crisis.

Salus Mortgage Solutions has moved into the Old Eagle at the western end of the town's Market Place.

Owner Brad Bedingfield said the firm had started in a small, first-floor office next to Dereham's cinema in 2009, and had been based for the past 13 years on the Greens Road Industrial Estate for the past 13 years.

Mr Bedingfield said: “It’s been a tough time for a lot of people lately when it comes to their mortgages.

"With the heightened interest rates of the last two years, it’s more important than ever that people get advice to help them find the best, most cost-effective option for their circumstances.

“We hope that, by being more visible, more people will be encouraged to get advice locally, from people who know and care about the area.

"We’re trying to make it easier for people to start that conversation – they can pop in and see us on their way to the shops.”

Mr Bedingfield has a team of three - Kieran Smith, Georgina Thew and Emily Franks.

He said the firm was committed to contributing to the community and supported Dereham Rugby Club, sponsored Dereham Football Club’s under eights team, and Dereham Cancer Care.

“We want our town to thrive and have built up good relationships with solicitors, accountants and estate agents in and around the town, so it’s great to be nearer the action,” Mr Bedingfield said.
