After three sell-out events to kick off the year, Dereham Memorial Hall is hoping to keep its momentum going with its February line-up.

From a Tommy Cooper tribute show to something for the whole family, there is a range of entertainment at the hall next month to follow the hall’s busiest January to date.

On Friday, February 16 at 7.30pm, the Hambledon Productions touring show Just Like That! – The Tommy Cooper Show comes to Dereham.

It is a portrayal of the comic genius, with impeccable timing, misfiring magic and quick-fire gags, and of course the unmistakable red fez.

At half-term The Witch and The Egg is on at 2pm on Friday, February 22.

The 50-minute show tells a heartwarming story through puppets, shadow play and music, and has heavily subsidised ticket prices thanks to Creative Arts East.

Tim Cara, of Friends of Dereham Memorial Hall, said: “We’re delighted to bring these wonderful, tried and tested shows to the Memorial Hall in the next few weeks.

"The Tommy Cooper tribute fills theatres wherever it goes, and has already sold out in Bristol and London in 2024.

“The children’s puppet show comes via Norwich Puppet Theatre, and the puppeteer Zannie Fraser is an absolute master of her craft.

“The return of commercial promoters with musical tribute acts is so welcome.

"If they can succeed this year, they will come back next year.

"We need to do everything we can to encourage local people to use this wonderful local theatre, which is the envy of every town in Norfolk.”

Into March, the Mid Norfolk Railway’s Model Railway Exhibition is on Saturday, March 2, followed by a Dereham debut for Reflex Theatre’s play Call Me John, on Thursday, March 7. The Eastern Angles return with Stones In His Pocket, on Friday, March 22. Both plays at 7.30pm.

They are followed with an 80s Party Night on Saturday, March 23.
