A performing arts festival is gearing up for its 11th edition and is promising much more than music.
The Maui Festival of Music and Performing Arts will return on August 23 - 25, at Bullard’s Farm, Gressenhall.
The annual event near Dereham, known for its blend of creativity and excitement, spans across three days and four nights.
Famed for its six stages of music, the festival will host a variety of notable bands, among them the Dutty Moonshine Big Band, Dreadzone, Henge, Manifesto Brass and more.
More than 100 bands and acts in total are planned to perform.
New for the 2024 edition is live comedy scheduled for the Friday and Saturday.
Some of UK’s best stand-up comedians will be hosted by Kai Barron from Shaft of Wit.
This year's festival will also debut the Maui’s Young Persons Work Initiative.
The program aims to recruit young people aged 18 to 24, looking to expand their experience in sound and light engineering and stage management.
In addition, The Curious Cabaret and many talented female DJ Divas will entertain festival-goers alongside other dance activities.
Wellness and Healing Areas, another integral part of Maui, have also been expanded.
Attendees can enjoy extensive self-care services, ranging from massage, yoga sessions, reiki, gong baths, meditation and tarot.
A plethora of craft workshops like shrunken head making, mosaics and face painting will allow festival-goers to tap into their creativity.
The family-friendly festival also offers activities for children such as racing and storytelling.
The 2024 edition also features a full circus tent hosted by the Foolhardy Circus, showcasing live bands and displays of prodigious circus skills.
Festival goers can also look forward to an improved camping experience, with redesigned accommodation zones catering to different preferences.
The event follows a robust green policy, with 80pc recycling and a reliance on solar energy for lighting.
With its alluring blend of creativity, music, and revelry, the Maui Festival is all set to offer yet another memorable experience whilst supporting local charities.
