A celebrity football match is set to raise funds for two good causes.

The 'Sellebrity Soccer' event will take place on April 27 at Dereham Town Football Club.

The event will support the Norfolk Accident Rescue Service (NARS) and Jesse’s Anchor Charities.

NARS is an emergency medical charity based in Dereham, providing life-saving pre-hospital emergency care across Norfolk.

It attends more than 2,000 calls every year.

Jesse’s Anchor Charities focuses on raising awareness and providing support for mental health issues.

Both organisations rely on donations to continue their work.

Celebrities confirmed for the match include Calum Best, Dan Osborne, Cal the Dragon, Sean Stone, Reuben Collins, Orson Nurse, Chet Sket, Munveer Jabbal, Arthur Poremba, and Eastenders' Dean Gaffney.

The event promises an afternoon of entertainment, with fans and families given the chance to watch familiar faces from television, sports, and entertainment unite for charity.

Chris Neil, chairman and critical care paramedic at NARS, said: "The funds raised through this event go directly toward keeping our service operational and saving lives.

"As an emergency medical service, we depend on the support of the public to continue our life-saving work, and we are incredibly grateful for this opportunity to raise much-needed funds for such an important cause."

In 2024, the event raised more than £17,000 for local charities, and organisers are hoping to exceed that amount this year.

The match will kick off at 12pm.

Tickets are priced at £12 each plus a booking fee, with children under two able to attend for free.

They can be purchased through Eventbrite.

The match is expected to not only raise significant funds but also boost awareness of the vital services provided by NARS and Jesse’s Anchor Charities.

Organisers are hopeful for a large turnout to support the causes and enjoy a day of fun-filled football action.
