Dereham Town Council has acted quickly to remove a group of travellers from its Recreation Ground.
An eviction notice was handed to the group of approximately 12 caravans on Saturday, with enforcement agents then employed to carry out their removal on Monday morning.
The initial notice - which informed the group that they were trespassing on private land and needed to leave - was handed to the encampment at 5.30am on Saturday by the town council and police.

By Monday afternoon, the caravans had left and the site had been cleared.

Tow trucks were the ready in case they had not complied with the orders.
Tony Needham, town clerk, said: “Obviously there's a cost involved in instructing agents to come and do this.
“But I think we felt that we wanted to make it uncomfortable for them as much as possible and discourage them from coming back in the future.”
The group arrived at the site off Station Road on Friday evening, and are believed to have broken a gate lock in order to gain access.
Since their arrival, a newly-installed trampoline in the park’s play area has been pulled out from the ground.
