A village road is due to close next week with motorists warned to expect disruption.
Church Street, in Litcham, near Dereham, will shut from 9am to 3pm on March 23 to undergo a gully replacement.
The works are being carried out by Norfolk County Council, which put forward a temporary traffic order for the area.
The closure will affect Church Street from its junction with Front Street for 40 metres.
The council's order said restrictions may apply until May 4 if the closure is required beyond the anticipated dates.
A spokesman for the council said: "The order shall automatically revoke on the completion of the works when the closure is no longer necessary or otherwise on the 4th May 2026 without further notice.
"If necessary, the restriction could run for a maximum period of 18 months from the date the order is effective".
A diversion route will take motorists towards Back Street, Mileham Road, Litcham Road, Stanfield Road, Fakenham Road and Dereham Road.
It is expected to add around 14 miles and 22 minutes onto journey times.
