A fundraising day has raised thousands to support a community centre.
Dereham Meeting Point launched its 40th anniversary appeal at Fakenham Racecourse, raising £6,500 through an auction and raffle as part of the campaign.
The event was supported by Woodforde’s Brewery, which sponsored the Dereham Meeting Point Handicap race, won by champion jockey Sean Bowen.
Shonette Mooney, manager of Dereham Meeting Point, said: "I am absolutely overwhelmed by the support and generosity we received.
"It truly shows what a caring and compassionate community we are part of, not just in Dereham but across the surrounding areas.
"There are so many people to thank – our wonderful staff, dedicated volunteers, and supportive trustees – who gave their time, energy, and heart to make the day such a success.
"We simply couldn’t do it without them."
Fakenham Racecourse also supported the charity by allowing space for the auction and a raffle stall.
The event is part of a wider effort to raise £100,000 to keep Dereham Meeting Point open for the next three years.
The centre has supported people in the community for four decades.
Ms Mooney said: "As we celebrate 40 years in the heart of our community, we now look ahead with hope and determination.
"There is still more to do, but together, we are getting closer.
"Every step we take brings us closer to our £100,000 goal – helping to keep Dereham Meeting Point open for the next three years, continuing to support those who need us most."
Other supporters include Dereham Meeting Point’s three-legged Labrador mascot, Clyde.
Upcoming events include a murder mystery in Gressenhall.
A Red Tent Community Day in Queen Mother’s Gardens will take place on July 4, and a special postcard raffle is also planned, with the draw on August 28.
