A woman has been banned from entering a market town for two years after admitting to a string of offences.
Tara Berry, 35, of Meadow Close, Narborough, was sentenced at Norwich Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, where she was handed a 16-week custodial sentence suspended for 12 months.
She was also given a Criminal Banning Order (CBO) banning her from entering Dereham for two years, Asda in Necton and an address in Swanton Morley.
Berry admitted a series of offences, including assault on January 22, retail thefts in Dereham on March 11 and March 17, and further retail thefts in Swaffham on January 7 and April 18.
She also damaged property in Thetford on Christmas Day last year and assaulted a police officer on Boxing Day.
Inspector Simon Jones, neighbourhood policing inspector for Breckland, said: "Criminal Behaviour Orders are a really important part of the work we do to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour.
"They take a lot of work and are only given out in exceptional circumstances, hopefully this example will show that we do take this type of behaviour seriously and will use every tool we have to make the area better for everyone.".
