A housebuilder has signed up as a sponsor for this year’s Dereham Blues Festival.

Norfolk-based Abel Homes is supporting the five-day event in Dereham, which runs from July 1 to July 5 and features national and local blues artists.

The festival, organised by volunteers on a non-profit basis, will take place across 14 venues around the town, including pubs and clubs.

Graham Clarkson, a member of the festival committee, said: "We are delighted that such a highly respected local house builder has chosen to support the festival this year.

"The Dereham Blues Festival brings over 10,000 people to the town to enjoy the music, and in doing so they support Dereham’s pubs and clubs hugely.

"Our sponsors play a big role in making it all possible."

Abel Homes is currently building 216 energy-efficient family homes on Swanton Road in Dereham and is supporting the festival as part of its wider community involvement.

Paul LeGrice, managing director at Abel Homes, said: "The Dereham Blues Festival is such a huge success, and we are proud to become one of its sponsors."
