A district council has appointed its new chairman.
Councillor Nigel Wilkin, ward member for Necton, was formally appointed during the Breckland Council's annual general meeting on May 21.
Mr Wilkin said: "I am honoured to have been appointed chairman by my fellow councillors.
Having served Breckland for many years, it is a privilege to take on this role once again and represent our district over the coming year.
"I look forward to meeting residents, community groups and local businesses across Breckland, celebrating the fantastic work that takes place in our towns and villages, and supporting the causes that make such a difference to people's lives."
First elected to Breckland Council in 1995, Mr Wilkin served as vice-chairman for 2025/2026 and previously held the chairman role in 2011/2012.
He has chosen Dereham Meeting Point as his nominated charity for the year.
The organisation supports residents in and around Dereham by offering home-cooked meals and a variety of activities aimed at reducing isolation and keeping people active and socially connected.
