An England footballer has delighted pupils during a visit to a Norfolk school.

Lioness star Lauren Hemp was welcomed by Litcham School, near Dereham, this week.

The player, who has two European Championship titles to her name, helped with the school's football competition and spent time with students.

Litcham School said they were "delighted" to welcome the star in a post on social media.

It said: "We were delighted to welcome Lauren Hemp to school this week.

"As well as spending time with our students, Lauren helped out with our football competition in the afternoon, sharing her experiences and offering encouragement throughout the event.

"It was a fantastic opportunity for our young people to meet one of England’s leading footballers and hear first-hand about the dedication, resilience and hard work needed to succeed at the highest level.

"Thank you, Lauren, for being so generous with your time and for inspiring the next generation."

Hemp grew up in North Walsham, attending the town's high school, and began her football journey at the local club before joining Norwich City’s youth side.

She is now a Manchester City player and was awarded an MBE in 2024 for services to football.
