Jeremy Clarkson's beer and beef pie is proving to be a crowd-pleaser in pubs across Norfolk.

The pie, which is made with Hawkstone IPA and slow-cooked British beef, is part of a limited-time menu available in 498 Marston’s pubs nationwide.

In Norfolk, it can be found at seven venues, including Greenstone in Dereham and The Grayling in Great Yarmouth.

Danielle Cannell, who works at Greenstone, said: "There are a lot of people coming in for the pie and beer.

"The feedback I've had says the pie is filled with a lot of meat, unlike other pies.

"My customers say the steak is very tender and the pastry crumbles really well.

"All in all, I’m very happy with how my guests are enjoying it."

The pie features British diced beef and pulled beef cheek, slow-cooked in a rich Hawkstone IPA gravy with seasonal vegetables and Barber’s Cheddar, all wrapped in buttery shortcrust pastry.

It is served with seasonal vegetables, extra gravy and a choice of chips or mash.

Zoe Wyman, the general manager at The Grayling in Great Yarmouth, said: "It’s been very popular for trade; a lot of people have seen the advert outside while passing and come in to try it.

"It’s definitely brought in more customers."

One diner who ordered the pie said: "The meat is very tender and the pastry is nice too."

Clarkson launched the Hawkstone beer brand in 2021 to support British farmers and promote home-grown produce.

The pie is also on offer at the Running Horse in Fakenham, Thatcher's Needle in Diss, Honey Stone in Hunstanton and the Cock Inn and Copper Beech in Norwich.

Hawkstone IPA, which recently won England’s Best IPA at the World Beer Awards, is available by the bottle at participating pubs.
