A pub has joined forces with a local baker to bring a tempting new range of homemade cakes and desserts to its menu.

Guests at The George Hotel in Dereham can now enjoy sweet treats from Mari’s Bakes, meaning as part of the venue’s afternoon teas and daily dessert selection.

Mari Smith, the baker behind the business, will supply a rotating range of cakes and other bakes.

A spokeswoman for The George Hotel said: "We are genuinely so excited about working with Mari and we know our lovely customers are going to absolutely adore her creations.

"And I can say that with complete confidence because I’ve personally used Mari for my own family celebration cakes in the past - and she has never, ever disappointed."

The hotel has already teased some of Ms Smith's desserts, including her Biscoff cheesecake and key lime pie.

With the new partnership in place, The George plans to expand its offerings in the coming months.

The spokeswoman added: "We’re incredibly proud to be supporting another amazing local small business and we truly believe this is the beginning of something really special."
