The Met Office has predicted unseasonably warm weather for Norfolk at the start of October.

Recent forecasts show that inland areas like Wymondham and Norwich are expected to reach approximately 21C on October 1 and 2.

Typically, maximum temperatures in Norfolk at the start of October range from 16C to 17C, with overnight lows of 8C to 10C.

This forecast means parts of Norfolk could see temperatures around 3C to 5C higher than average.

A Met Office forecaster stated that high pressure will likely be in place across much of central and southern UK through the first few days of October, bringing "plenty of dry weather," with temperatures "remaining above average overall".

Coastal areas, including Great Yarmouth and Cromer, are also expected to have temperatures in the low 20s, while Hunstanton is predicted to be slightly cooler at around 19C.

While the current warmth is attributed to high pressure and a southerly airflow, meteorologists suggest the strong El Niño in the Pacific Ocean has raised the likelihood of the UK experiencing a warmer-than-average autumn.
