Hundreds of people have won more than £1.1m in this month's Premium Bonds draw.

There are a total of 509 winners in Norfolk for October, who scooped an average prize of £2,344 each.

This is down from an average of £4,857 for each winner in September, when one lucky winner secured a £1m prize.

One person scored a £100,000 prize, while another landed a £50,000 windfall.

Two others won a prize of £25,000 and 15 people won a more than respectable £10,000 each.

Premium Bonds are an investment product from National Savings & Investments (NS&I).

Unlike other investments, where investors earn interest or a regular dividend income, bonds are entered into a monthly prize draw where people can win between £25 and £1m.

Andrew Westhead, NS&I retail director, said: “The quickest way to check if you have won a prize is to use our Premium Bonds prize checker app, check online, or even ask Alexa from the second working day of each month onwards.”
