A Reepham WI open meeting was a sell-out success after receiving a Norfolk Federation bursary.
Held at St Michael’s Church, the event was supported by Reepham Co-op, which sponsored the arrival drinks and canapés.
The highlight of the evening was a presentation by Alan Dixon, a local photographer known for his recent win in a Norfolk Wildlife Trust competition.
His talk, titled Wildlife from a Reepham Doorstep, captivated the audience.
He shared insights into the art of wildlife photography, emphasising the significance of weather conditions, light, preparation, and research.
Demonstrating how varying light and shadows can alter an image, Mr Dixon's stunning photographs showcased the natural beauty surrounding Reepham.
The presentation concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, allowing attendees to delve deeper into Alan’s work and the nuances of photography.
The evening almost faced a hurdle when the church heating broke down earlier in the week.
Thanks to ADM Plumbing, Heating and Electrical, who provided portable heaters, the event proceeded smoothly.
The meeting was made possible by a bursary awarded by the Norfolk Federation of Women’s Institutes in 2025, in connection with its 105th Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Members chose to use the funding towards their open meeting the following year, helping to make this special event possible.
Reepham WI was delighted to welcome two new members.
