It culminated in a family golden mile with parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and younger brothers and sisters joining in for two laps of the school field.

The school council sold Sport Relief wristbands and pupils learned to sing and dance to the official Sport Relief song ‘Step it up’.

Money was also raised through a sporting hero non-uniform day, sponsorship for the challenges and the golden mile.

Christina Bodiam, teacher with responsibility for community cohesion, said: “It was a brilliant week and everyone had lots of fun raising money.”
