Green fingered Reepham folk are finally set to get an allotment after the town council agreed to rent land in the town for a set of new plots.
Reepham Town Council agreed last Wednesday to rent land off Stoney Lane from the parochial church council for 500 per year on a short term basis.
It is hoped that eventually the council will be able to buy the land off the church with help from grant funding and a loan.
At the moment there are about 70 people on a waiting list for allotments in the town.
It has been estimated that this amounts to a 400 year waiting list due to the length of time it takes for one of the existing allotments to become available.
