An assistant headteacher at a West Norfolk primary school has appeared in court charged with sex offences.
Alastair Walker, who was a PE teacher at Middleton Primary School, is facing 16 charges of making and possessing indecent photographs of a child.
Walker, of The Street, Hindolveston, near Dereham, was acting headteacher at Middleton Primary School in 2007 and 2008.
The 56-year-old appeared before Cromer Magistrates on Thursday and will appear at Norwich Crown Court on March 24.
In a statement, Middleton Primary School head Claire Bunton said: 'I can confirm that Alastair Walker has been suspended from the school pending a police investigation and subsequent charges. These charges do not relate to any pupils at the school. As the matter is currently before the courts I am not in a position to comment further at this time.'
