Dereham's French twinning group is looking ahead to life after Brexit and a future increase in its twinning membership and family exchanges.

In the last few years Caudebec-Les-Elbeuf has been represented at Dereham's annual weekend of remembrance along with family visits in both directions.

The chairman of Dereham's group Jim Stebbings said: 'Our partners, like us, recognise that in view of, or despite, Brexit we need to redouble our efforts to make our ties closer and stronger.'

Following political changes in Caudebec the responsibility there has been largely passed from the local council to an independent twinning committee making it easier for the two groups to develop together.

The AGM of the Dereham/Caudebec-Les-Elbeuf group will take place at Dereham Library on Monday, March 13, at 7.30pm. All welcome. For details call 01362 693277.
