A quartet of colleagues have braved a firewalk to raise money for vulnerable children across East Anglia.

Staff from the Norfolk branches of the building society The Nottingham completed the fundraiser to make £325 for local charity, Break.

Claire Brown, Charley McIlwhan, Jodie Horne and Aly Silvester walked barefoot over hot coals at The Bird in the Hand at Wreningham, near Norwich.

They also challenged staff at the Nationwide Building Society to take part and see who could raise the most. Nationwide weighed in with more than £300, taking the total raised to over £625.

Ms Brown, assistant branch manager at The Nottingham's Fakenham branch, said: 'It was an exciting experience but most importantly we helped raise a significant amount of money for Break. It will be used to support young adults leaving the care system in finding safe and secure homes.

'It fits with The Nottingham's ethos of everyone having a roof over their head.'
