A business in Norfolk has helped to raise thousands of pounds for charity through a fundraising dinner.

Recruit Venture Group, based in Dereham, raised £5,000 for the Alzheimer's Society by auctioning a week at a Spanish villa in Marbella during an auction at a charity dinner in King Lynn on March 20.

The company initially donated a single week at the villa, which sold for £2,500, but it was so popular that when the auction concluded another guest offered to match the winning bid so they could also have the villa for week.

It was one of two events organised by KL Magazine and featuring Morston Hall's Michelin-starred chef Galton Blackiston. The events raised a total of £34,500 for charity.

'It was a no brainer for us, we own the villa and had originally donated it to the auction for a week but when someone offers to double what we raise you can't say no,' said Preston Andrews, director of the company.
