More than a hundred students from mid-Norfolk attended a talk from a university professor in a bid to help inspire a future generation of innovators.
Professor Tim Minshall, the Dr John C Taylor Professor of Innovation from Cambridge University, presented to Dereham Sixth Form College students, as well as pupils from Litcham High School and Northgate Academy.
Prof Minshall recounted his career progression, from school life in Downham Market to studying engineering at university, before completing his PhD in Innovation in Engineering. The remainder of the presentation focused on the idea and process of innovation.
A spokesperson for the college said: 'The question and answer session provided the students a fantastic opportunity to grill Tim about both the education system and what it takes to be an entrepreneur and this sparked numerous student discussions.'
Prof Minshall's visited on Friday July 13.
