So thank goodness the cricket season is only just around the corner.

This fantastic old picture, dropped into the Times office by Dereham man Ray Greenwood, evokes new mown grass, endless summer's days and the timeless image of white-clad players etched on rich deep-green fields.

Ray played local cricket for many years - that's him second left in the front row.

He was wondering if anyone can remember anything about these photographs which he knows are all of Toftwood Cricket Club but is not sure exactly when.

It's easy to let us know if you can help! Just drop a line to Times editor Terry Redhead at Prospect House, Rouen Road, Norwich, NR1 1RE. You can pop a letter into our Dereham or Fakenham offices if you prefer. Or you can e-mail Terry at terry.redhead@archant.co.uk or deputy editor Tim Warner at tim.warner@archant.co.uk

Meanwhile if you are perfecting that bowling action or practising a forward prod …. roll on April.
