Essex-based Caring Homes runs more than 100 care homes in England and Scotland including Oak Manor Nursing Home, in Scarning, which provides care for up to 61 residents with Alzheimer's disease and other progressive dementias.
It has applied to Breckland Council for outline permission to build 24 assisted care bungalows on land at Oak Manor, in Dereham Road.
The application states the development would create two part-time jobs.
