A sweet floral feast is promised for visitors to a flower festival being staged this weekend in Scarning Church, near Dereham.
More than 30 separate displays will reflect the overall theme of 'Culinary Delights' and there will be plenty to tantalise the taste buds among the floral interpretations, including strawberries and cream, Indian cuisine, Australian BBQ, Italian picnic, The Confectioners and The Bakers. Alison Griffiths clever display, using artificial flowers and a variety of sweets, including polo mints, liquorice allsorts and lollipops, is bound to be a favourite.
The festival designs have been co-ordinated by Corinne Steward who has been involved in the design side for the biennial event since 1993.
The festival opens on Friday and continues between 10am and 4.30pm on Saturday and Sunday . There are various events connected with it, including a 'Back to the 40s' evening with musical nostalgia group Timescape on Saturday in the church and a festival service on Sunday at 6pm.
