An expanding mid-Norfolk company wants to build a new unit on a business park near Dereham.

Payne Pallet Inverters Ltd has applied to Breckland Council for permission to construct a new light industrial unit at Paynes Business Park, in Dereham Road, Beeston.

The company is already based at the business park and a report sent to the council said the new unit was needed to help the business achieve its aims of updating its equipment and working methods, and exploring new markets nationally and internationally.

The report said three new full-time jobs would be created as a result of the expansion.

The company currently employs 11 people and has seen its annual turnover increase by about 40pc over the last five years to almost £900,000 for the last financial year.

Pallet inverters are machines that transfer goods from one pallet to another. Payne Pallet Inverters Ltd supplies these machines to businesses across the world, and Sainsbury's and Asda are among the company's clients.
