The Times has played a part in a village cookbook in becoming a sell-out within 10 days of it being featured in the paper.

Produced by the Friends of Colkirk, a village near Fakenham, the book featuring 60 tried and tested recipes, went on sale in December and within 10 days all 200 copies had been sold.

The idea for the book was as a novel way of raising funds for projects to benefit people living in the village.

Jenny Filby said it was largely due to the publicity given to the book in the Times and its sister publication, The Eastern Daily Press, that copies sold out so quickly.

Now the publishing team are ensuring that more people can try out the delights of Norfolk Plough Pudding or Impossible Fish Pie, just two of its recipes, by having the book re-printed.

Anyone who would like a copy by sending a cheque for £5.50 (made payable to the Friends of Colkirk Village) to Jenny Filby at 6 Jarvis Drive, Colkirk, Norfolk, NR21 7NG.
