Dereham's assistant mayor is today beginning her journey home after being caught up in the volcano ash flight ban.
Lynda Turner, who represents Toftwood on the town and district councils, was among the 150,000 Britons left stranded overseas because of flight restrictions.
She had been due to fly home from China, on Thursday, April 15, when her flight was cancelled.
After spending a few days stuck in Beijing she is today due to fly from China to Frankfurt.
'What happens when we get to Frankfurt no-one know but Travelsphere are making arrangements to get us back onto English soil somehow,' she said.
